Keep Ison Rock Ridge Standing!
Ison Rock Ridge sits immediately above five small communities in Wise County, Va and is slated for destruction by mountaintop removal coal mining. Locals and coalition partners have been able to hold off approval of the pending permit for going on five years. We sent an incredible 32,000 comments asking to decision makers to stop the permit in 2011 but Ison Rock Ridge’s funeral could come any day now — unless we continue to tell the EPA to stand strong against the coal industry and Keep Ison Rock Ridge Standing. Let’s STOP the proposed permit in 2012! |
